Located some 50 air miles from Port Hardy, British Columbia is a Lodge situated at an outstanding wildlife viewing location. This is a place of spectacular beauty where one can still find the silence and solitude, and an internationally acclaimed Grizzly Bear viewing program.

ITINERARY

Day 1 - VANCOUVER TO LODGE
SUMMER SUNRISE ON LODGE_med.jpgThis tour starts in Vancouver with a transfer to the airport for your 50-minute (approx) flight from Vancouver to Port Hardy. Upon arrival in Port Hardy guests will be transferred to the floatplane terminal from where they will travel to the Lodge, which is located 50 miles from Port Hardy in a beautiful river valley on the central coast of British Columbia - known as the Great Bear Rainforest.  It is a unique 5 bedroom rustic style floating lodge,  and  its intimate nature will assure a personalized wilderness adventure. The area is one of the best places in the world to observe grizzly bears and many other forms of wildlife including black bears, wolves and bald eagles. After orientation, guests will depart in the late afternoon for a bear viewing tour. Your gracious hosts are experienced wildlife biologists who have many ideal locations and viewing platforms from which you will be viewing the bears. Upon returning to the lodge, dinner is served then overnight at the Lodge.  You will enjoy wilderness-gourmet meals using the freshest possible local ingredients, and all organic food when it is available. A typical dinner might feature freshly caught salmon roasted on a cedar plank with a marinade of maple syrup, mustard seeds and balsamic vinegar. 

Day 2 - BEAR VIEWING AND OTHER ACTIVITIES
Rise early for breakfast before departing for the days bear viewing trip. Your bear viewing sessions will be tailored to the activities of the bears, observing them when they are most active in their chosen habitats. Viewing blinds have been constructed with photographers in mind, providing optimal vantage points to take the perfect photograph. At mid day you will return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon depart back to Port Hardy by floatplane. Overnight in Port Hardy.

Day 3 - PORT HARDY TO VANCOUVER
Transfer to the Port Hardy airport for your return flight to Vancouver. Tour concludes upon arrival at the Vancouver airport.
