ITINERARY

Day 1 - ARRIVE CHIANG RAI
You will be met on arrival at Chiang Rai Airport and transferred to your Golden Triangle Resort. For a very special arrival we can arrange the "VIP Regal Elephant Arrival" (see details below). Afternoon at leisure to explore your beautiful surroundings.

Day 2 - THREE COUNTRIES IN ONE DAY TOUR WITH PICNIC HAMPER

  • TA KHI LEK (Burma) : There are not many places in the world where crossing a bridge can take you safely back in time, the border crossing from Mae Sai to Ta Khi Lek is one such place. Take time to explore the market, full of local handicrafts, spices and specialities.
  • CHIANG SAEN (Ancient Lanna Capital): After lunch you will travel to Chiang Saen. It's status as an ancient capital of the Lanna Kingdom ensured the town was richly endowed with beautiful buildings. These ancient ruins have been preserved and provide a fascinating insite to an ancient kingdom.
  • DON SAO ISLAND (Laos): Take a long tail boat up the Mekong River, a trip of approximately 20 minutes each way, where you can watch the Laotian villagers going about their daily lives at the waters edge.

Today is a chance to "meet" the elephants within the conservation camp. You can choose between a 1 hour Elephant Trek OR enjoy a 1 Hour Elephant "Driving" Lesson where the local mahout will teach you the basic commands used to drive these magnificent animals.

Day 4 - TRANSFER TO AIRPORT After breakfast you will be transferred by private air-conditioned vehicle to Chiang Rai Airport for your onward travel.
