anne's journeys - San Francisco..The City By the Bay
When visiting North America or Canada select San Francisco as your gateway city..or stopover en route to Europe. A highlight is the half day Walking Tour, where you'll learn secrets of the city's past and indulge in the gourmet delights of her most fascinating neighbourhoods.
Once
the fog lifts this famous city literally shines in all her glory.
Although the inspiration for many a song she's much more than a pretty
face. Her well known icons are easily accessible to the tourist...so
walk the Golden Gate Bridge or take a night tour by boat to that infamous ex-prison,turned museum..Alcatraz.
If energetic, hike San Francisco's hills..or hop a cable car and enjoy
panoramic bay views and neighbourhoods representing both her colourful
and elegant past. Whether its "high style" shopping on Union Square or superb Italian cuisine in North Beach you'll want to return...to retrieve your heart!
